J.M. Whitney Insurance and Co. is looking for a high quality, service-minded team member for our Watertown office. We currently need a customer service manager who will be responsible for handling our customers’ insurance needs, keep cases organized and take initiative to help out unique client issues within a smooth, stressless experience. We’re a small, office-based team focused on highly-personalized service to many long-standing clients as well as taking on new clients.
Good Communication Skills:
This person should feel confident and have experience handling personal lines clients and commercial lines clients in a professional manner across all communication methods: an old fashioned phone call, a quick email, a mailed letter and with in-person interactions.
Timely, personal communication is a hallmark for this family run business that just celebrated its 70th year in business.

This person will bring a helpful approach founded in curiosity to seek out answers and accurate information for clients.
This person will stay informed of insurance-related tools and trends within the industry.
Problem Solving and Socially Aware:
This person will be in charge of managing existing accounts including but not limited to: client communication, policy changes, renewals, payments and claims.
This person will be a navigator by which our clients are leaning on to solve problems with.
This person will also be expected to follow-up on the client’s experience and takeaway after the claim was handled.
Organized and Proactive:
This person will naturally have strong organizational skills, an ability to alternate their attention to a few different accounts on the same day, manage time effectively and work independently.
This person will have the ability to cross-sell existing clients and process and rate new applications for prospective clients.

Qualifications:
•Experience with active property and casualty license is preferred; however, we will consider paying for classes and licensing.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 2+ years’ of customer service
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with AMS 360 Management system, Microsoft Office, Word and Excel programs
